people who know stuff about law should update this thing. PCMR is saying they may need to shut down if they lose. but is that realistic? whats going on?
I don't think any particulars of their arrangement have been released so I have no idea what the contract states. I find it very unlikely PCMR will be forced to shut down.
maybe just keep checkin the site for news on it. tallisker is fucking blowing it, the skilink now this. I only just heard about it today so dont know much about it but it seems like some unnecessary move on talliskers part.
I read a bit of it. PCMR is suing Talisker. Talisker is saying that the extension through 2041 is invalid because PCMR did not properly notify Talisker by March 1, 2011 of their intent to extend(LOL), and PCMR is saying that they have been in contact for the past several years and indeed state their intentions of continued operations.
PCMR is essentially suing to keep Talisker to their end of the deal which would be continued operation as agreed upon by both parties until 2041. If Talisker wins they will effectively shut down PCMR. Talisker seems to be trying to back out to get more money, or as a ploy to try and buy out PCMR.
From what I understand this is one instance where Talisker is actually in the right and PCMR screwed up and they're now trying to get the public on their side (which is a relatively easy move when your opponent is Talisker). I'm somewhat torn on Talisker.... while I despise the idea of SkiLink, I hate The Colony, and sure as hell don't want them trying to take over PCMR... they have put some much needed upgrades into Canyons and they're the only ones who stepped up to build a legit mtn bike park out here. The idea of living in a full on-Talisker Town still terrifies me though.
