I ran over the dog

NS. I've got a fucking situation on my hands.

My parents were gone for the week so I'm home alone. I ran to the store quick and just left the dog in the backyard for a few as I wasn't going to be gone long. Came back and I must have left the gate open because when I was pulling into the driveway the little guy ran out right under my rear tire.. He's pretty squished and was dead by the time I checked what I ran over. He was just a small dog so there was really no chance for him.

So now the problems I face here are:

1. What do I do with his body?? I want to give him a proper burial but the neighbors can see the backyard and I want to keep this under wraps.. I just have it sitting in the porch right now but I want to dispose of it soon before it gets too gross

And

2. What do I tell my parents? My mom loved this dog a stupid amount, possibly more than me.. I can't just tell them I killed their dog.. I'm leaning towards "He ran away" which makes getting rid of his body an absolute priority right now.

I really want to but my mom is psycho and honestly loved that dog like a child. She had the thing in almost every one of her damn profile pics on Facebook, something neither me not my dad have never even been honored with..

Say he ran out the front door when you opened it for someone and that he ran into the street and was hit by a passing car... It's not that big of a deal, accidents happen.
Mind you I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I hit my dog.

I don't know how you could live with yourself sending your mother on a frantic wild goose chase thinking the dog is lost. You really should be ashamed for even considering lying about something like this. It's not partying or smoking weed. You killed her dog because you were careless and probably pulled in too fast. Man up

Elgato don't even tempt me to post proof.. and to whoever mentioned it, yes I'm jealous of the relationship my mom had with this canine, and I believe the house will be nicer without it. I'm going to text my dad with the situation as I doubt he'd tell her on their vacation and more likely than not he shares my opinion on this

Holy shit man you've got a shitstorm on your hands. Sounds like first your mom is going to hysterically scream at you, then cry for a couple of months, then hate you for years. You'll be lucky if she looks you in your eyes in the next three years.

and holy shit...I would feel so so fucking bad if I killed my dog...I fuckin' love that guy. I wouldn't be worried about my parents, I would be worried about the guilt and self-hatred that I would have to live with for the rest of my life. God damn, even thinking about it is bumming me out.

Guilt driven drug/alcohol benders would ensue.

1.) call your mom immediately
2.) tell her the truth
3.) apologize SINCERELY, with no comments or attitude about the dog and it's relationship with your mom
4.) feel better because although it was an awful accident, at least you did the right thing afterwards.
5.) give it a proper burial.

The official word from my dad is to bury it under the trees in the backyard and he will somehow break the news to my mom without blaming me directly. Will update with the story when I can

Cut the body into little pieces and hide them throughout the house. Each body part has a clue leading your mom to the ultimate truth that you killed the dog. This will make the experience a fun game to lol about later in life, you won't be lying, and the anger from your mom will be put off for a while. Win Win. But really you are fucked!
