Where to ski

Brighton is always a good time. Park, cliffs, trees, steeps... I've never had a bad day there. Though if you're skiing this weekend, bring your boardshorts. 51 Saturday and Sunday in PC.

If you've skied the 'Bird before, the terrain at Alta is very similar as they're right next to each other- so if you liked Bird you'll like Alta. Snowbasin is cool, it's just out of the way and gets wind-ripped very easily (though that won't be an issue right now with this high pressure system we're in). Deer Valley has some of my favorite trees in Utah and a lot of the gapers that ski there don't ski them so they usually hold up well for long periods of time-- it's just Deer Valley, so obviously expensive.

I'd go Brighton one day Alta the other if for no other reason than they're higher elevation so the snow will probably hold up a little better than the PC resorts this weekend.

youve been pretty helpful, lets see if you cant help me with some more questions. im taking my younger brother to visit the university of utah. hes currently at uni of wyoming and he just got confirmation that he got accepted to transfer next fall. any suggestions for living (neighborhoods/ apartments youd recommend)? we'd like to check a few places out bc its unlikely we will be back before august. any restaurants we should def check out? slc staples? thanks again.

I live in PC so some of the SLC/UofU homies on here can probably give more detail, but generally the place to live is in the Sugarhouse neighborhood. Rent is cheap, it's right by the U, and it has a cool/younger vibe. Still very easy access to Big/Little Cottonwood, and the entrance to Parley's to get you to PC is right there.

As far as food my personal favorites in SLC are Pat's BBQ (self explanatory) and Bayleaf (greasy breakfast food, cheap, plentiful). I'll defer to the valley guys for further info on that subject.

Most of my friends live really close to the University. There are a lot of housing options super close to campus although roommates are required for a lot of them. The Avenues is a nice neighborhood on the north side of town, houses and apartments with bus transit to you U. Foothill Drive has a couple apartment complexes off it as well as some cheaper housing towards Sugarhouse.

For food other than the ones already stated:

Big Ed's, The Pie and B&D Burger are 3 places that are great and right off campus. Este Pizza is downtown and has some great NY style Pizza. Sawadee is near the university on South Temple and is great cheap Thai food in a nice setting. Ruth's Diner is a cool little diner up Emigration Canyon. Moochies is a great philly and meatball place it's been on Food TV. Red Iguana has some decent Mexican food. Copper Onion and Sage's are also nice little places to get some food, Sage's is vegetarian but really good.
