Replying to Fear of Airplanes

I hate airplanes. I hate them so damn much. I don't understand why I hate to fly either. I guess it's the fear of helplessness while up there. On the way to Jackson Hole, I was freaking out on this little commuter that was getting tossed around. Seriously. And I have to fly on the 20th to Whistler. Anyone else have this problem or have any advice?
