What are Buzz Lightyear type skis?

I was talking to my friend about making some powder skis and he mentioned the term Buzz Lightyear. Anybody have any idea about what these are?  +k for help -k for hate.

not sure...he might have meant the nose and the tail rise up like wings like buzz lightyear. Just a guess
