i just found out that the bases on these things are extruded... maybe that's why they're so cheap...

extruded bases are cheaper and easier to care for, but they'll never last as long as a well-maintained sintered-ptex base.

so they're cheaper to make, but you get what you pay for.

actually they are alot harder to maintain (they are hard as fuck to wax becasue the base is very nonpourous). pretty much they melt the plastic, and squueze it out. a good base (sintered)is pressed from little pellets). that sucks, but at least theree are companies starting to make cheap skis that can still rip bc shit. you usually dont see that.
