It's getting to that time of year that happens every year when there's still plenty of snow at my mountain but it has closing day anyways because they aren't making much money. This obviously pisses off season pass holders who paid their money at the beginning of the year for a nice long season.
I want to hear the opinions of some people in the industry, maybe some numbers too. How much does it actually cost to run a double chair lift all day? Other mountains policies? What are your thought on keeping the customer happy versus making money? There will always be those die-hard skiers that want to ski as long as possible and it really just angers all of the us who will continue to go on mondays after school with bare spots on the hill just to grind some rails.
Also, just for my mountain: 700 vert, normally they run 1 double chair at the end of the season. I'd like to hear about other people's problems with this too.
Thanks
