according to wiki, 30 people died over the last 3 years in school shootings in the US. i am not saying that this is not much, but it pales in comparison to the thousands of people getting killed/injured with firarms every single year in the US.

here are harvard studies that find evidence that liberal weapon laws and homicide/suicide/accidents rates are probably positively correlated, contrary to the "studies" in this thread from pro-weapon institutions.

well around 1500 people per year died regardless of age if that helps you because of unintentional firearm use.

my point is that the general easy-going mentality (availability and carrying laws) regarding weapons does lead to more homicides, suicides and accidental deaths. and i have harvard studies to back that assumption.

its not being biased its the fucking truth. stupidity is what kills people when it comes to firearms(accept obviously when someone is actually trying to kill someone).

Most accidentely shootings which the other kid was talking about happen because of someone making a mistake with the gun. Aiming it someone as a joke, not checking if it was loaded, playing with it and having no idea how to use it... I mean the list can go on. We don know that a guns trigger does not pull itself.

its just sad how people grieve for the victims of the school shootings and ask for more weapons to prevent those scenarios, when those exact same weapons kill 100 times more people by fucking accident every year.

i know you would like to think that everybody with a gun is a rational individual. but somewhere some fuckheads seem to have guns or else all those gun related deaths would not be the case.

you fail to see the big picture. just because you and your family have not shot each other yet, doesnt mean that a gun is as safe as a stuffed toy in general. since youre so concerned with the 15-yr olds, i REPEAT: 30000 people died in accidents involving guns between 1979 and 1997 in the US alone.

its downright hypocritical to defend guns in the light of those events. but since you wont read anything, i guess i have to move on. ignorance at its best. not surprising though, because its a well-known pattern among the pro-gun fraction.

see, you're an idiot. you dont just pull your gun out in that situation. anyone with a permit has been trained that the first thing you try to do is de-escalate the situation. if theyre holding his friend with a knife, you give them whatever they want. and if they still dont leave and you cant get away, you use the gun as a last resort. people need to realize that a permit holder doesnt have the right to just pull his gun out and use it whenever he wants. it is only as a last resort when there are no other options and you believe if you dont shoot the perp (not point the gun at him, not threaten him) until the threat is disabled that you or someone else will be killed or suffer a severe bodily injury.

25 % means less deaths, isnt that the point of this all? And do you realize that you have to be over 21 to get your CCW license. So first of all no "kids" will have there license. The only kids that are bringing the guns into school are the crazy psycho ones who would never be able to get there license. But, obviously that doesnt stop them, so there lies the reasoning behind this all. And CU has had this law implemented since 2003 and there hasnt been any shootings here (on campus). Overall i think no one should be allowed to carry a weapon on any campus but, without the evidence saying that it does in fact increase gun violence i think they are in the right by allowing this.

In the following 20 years after the ban was in place the murder rate was 114% higher than the pre-ban murder rate. The post ban murder rate was always at least 31% higher than the pre ban murder rate.

Jamaica banned all guns in 1974. The result? In 1973 the murder rate was 11.5 per 100,000. Just four years after the ban the murder rate rose to 19.5 per 100,000. By 1980 the murder rate was 41.7 per 100,000.

The Soviet Union banned guns. Take a guess what happened. From 1976 - 1985 they had a murder rate 21% - 41% higher than the US. By 1989 the murder rate was 48% higher than the US.

I take serious issue with this crap. There is no such thing as a gun accident... Anyone who accidentally shoots themselves or another person is negligent. Guns don't accidentally go off, guns are just a pile of metal and parts with out a brain controlling it and if an evil person or a negligent person is in control of a weapon they make it dangerous just like they could make a kitchen knife or an axe dangerous. Guns are not dangerous evil and/or stupid people are dangerous and it's illogical to restrict responsible honest people from easily accessing and carrying firearms and those are the only people gun laws affect because those people honor the laws...
