Where to go on Vacation (Hardest Skiing)

I've been to Whistler/Blackcomb, Snowbird/Alta, Jackson Hole, & Squaw Valley recently and now I'm looking to take another trip during my Spring break.

I'm looking to ski the hardest terrain there is...I don't care about terrain parks or anything else.

It has to be in the US.

Silverton. If you can catch it with good stability (and you have all the necessary avy gear), you can find some pretty epic shredding.

And I don't mean to claim or anything but I literally mean the hardest skiing out there, like I've skiied coffin at whistler, corbetts, jumped waterfalls at whistler, etc. I'm looking for like the craziest shit out there, not just like standard 'expert skiing'

I don't want to spend the day hiking and I'm not looking to go out-of-bounds

Also probably going for 3-4 days so I need enough to keep me entertained

if you arent looking to hike, then i doubt you have skied much gnarly stuff. that and the fact that you claimed skiing corbets leads me to believe that you are not nearly at the level you are implying.

But, to answer your question: it all depends on the snow conditions. a 50 degree 10 foot wide chute with a mandatory 30 footer is skiable with soft snow in the landing, but not when its moguled out.

Wait to see where the snow will be falling, and then go there.

Problem is...all the hard stuff is OB. Soo...good luck. Check out Alta or the Bird. You can make life hard there.

Just trying to give a better description of the level of skiing I'm looking for compared to someone who just wants to ski open bowls.

And yea hiking sucks if you don't have to, I'd rather not waste half my day walking if I could find nearly as good stuff in bounds.

And I'd like to book the vacation in advance since I'm going in two weeks.

hit up jackson hole, arguably the best inbounds terrain in north america. just came back and had the best 4 days of skiing in my life. sooo fucking sick out there dawg.

i am either not understanding what you are saying, or you have never skied out west.

90% of the gnarly stuff, inbounds out west, you have to hike to. and im talking a less than 30 minute hike, with the vast majority of the hikes being

sparknotes-

everything gnarly(inbounds) requires some hiking or a long traverse.

jhole/targhee- having a normal snow year while everywhere else is at super low tide. Targhee has some legit gnar if you wanna hike 30 mins, and a whole zone of perfect minigolf

Squaw/Alpine meadows- stoem door is opening for tahoe in the next few weeks, and wiht low tide, a ton of tech lines and little cliffs are not buried.

You obviously underestimate Silverton.

Oh and the skiing you claim you've done really isn't gnarly. Corbets is all hype. Super easy. I've scared myself way worse in Silverton than I ever was by Corbets.

you probably didn't look hard enough at snowbird (and the other resorts you mentioned) - you can usually find a more difficult / crazier line if you want to..

You should add Taos and Crystal Mountain to your list of places to hit. Obviously any serious mountain is going to be a little hit or miss depending on current conditions, but I assume you're doing plenty of weather researching right now.

if it's snowing in whistler i'd go back there if i were you. coffin and waterfall are just hucks imo. go do some short hikes (30 mins tops) and you can scare yourself silly. the lines down glacier wall are super gnarly depending on how the snow falls, and it's seriously a 2 minute hike.

tuckermans ravine NH. get it.... shit is some hard terrain on the wall

but i mean that is on the east and requires walking so doing it for a vacation might not be the best

i find it hard to beleive you didnt find hard enough terrain at squaw and whistler. Both mountains are so sick and some really intense terrain if you know where to go

sounds like you need to buy a copy of Squallywood and head to Squaw Valley! that way you have a guide to alllll that shredding youre looking for. since youre looking for the craziest shit out there, no worries about snowpack! just grip it and rip it buddy you'll be the best skier there

Thanks for the responses, I'm not saying those mountains were too easy for me, I'm just looking to go some place new.

Thinking  about maybe Blue Sky/Moonlight or going back to one of the places I've been too
