So I broke my leg last weekend, and I had to have a surgery to straighten everything out. I now have a rod, 3 pins and 2 plates in my right leg. So my question is, how many other people on NS have metal in them, and do you notice it at all after you recovered? Like can you feel it in you?
Mine is different than yours, but I got a metal plate on my colar bone to put it back together a couple months ago. It is still kinda sore, and I definitely notice it. You can easily see and feel it under my skin. I was told it can take upwards of a year to get to the point where you don't really notice it anymore.
i got a rod and 4 screws in my leg. can't feel them at all just doing stuff and its like they aren't there. i mean if i push down right where the screws are i can feel the tops of them, but besides that nothing. i wouldnt worry about it too much, you'll most likely be fine, and if in the small chance they do bother you can always have them removed.
i got a plate and 5 screws in last week on my ankle, im still in a cast so i havn't seen it yet but from what i've heard ill be able to see some of the screw heads and that in might be uncomfortable to wear boots.
Of course all injurys are different but i brok emy collorbone in 2005-6 and i still feel it, especially when im in bed tryin to sleep, i have to keep my arm in one position and can only sleep on one side.
i have 6 pins 1 rod and 2 plates in my left leg and i dont even feel it skiing or during normal everday activities...:)))) you feel it for about a year or so maybe less it all on how quickly you get used to it obviously
I don't. But on a related note my brother has an artificial eye socket after his was shattered. He doesn't notice it, but he looks a little different now.
