ever wanted to know why the brake of the ski binding breaks? Usually landing a trick switch on your toes puts pressure on the brake. when landing with your wait distribution forward and with a hard landing it could happen So it literally rips right through the screws. It can happen on rails, boxes on jumps. For myself I have broke it twice in a month. all from landing switch with my shoulders over my toes and it breaks. Depending on the type of binding, getting this piece (brake) replaced cost anywhere to free to 50$. Also depending on sponsorship and ski shop you go to. hope you learned something new!
I got a headache trying to decipher this. Switch or not, hard stompage can break the plastic piece under your heel, it's happened to me a few times but usually on shittier bindings.
the technology for brakes hasnt really changed since they were first introduced to alpine skis so its totally acceptable that the old tech cant handle the way that we are treating our skis with bigger drops, jumps and harder landings nowadays. In my opinion some work needs to be doen by binding companies to improve brake design rather than changing the colour as thats what it seems marker have done this year. (this whole statement ignores different binding brakes like the fks which im not entirely familiar with.)
