Also, one of the ideas that I've batted back and forth with my sister (Emma) is a gallery with a searchable database underneath.
We were both in Innsbruck for the Youth Olympics Halfpipe comp. As I have an SLR camera I was put on Photog duty. I got loads of pics of Tyler Harding and Katie Summerhayes at the event but also took photos of everyone else (memory cards are cheap!).
While using photos of the GB team athletes would be easy and obvious that would still leave loads of pics of other people at events who might want to see pics taken of them. We were thinking that a gallery of photos where people can search for photos by event, trick, athlete, etc... might be something of interest?
What do you guys think?
If this idea sounds appealing then Emma will look into developing it for a subsequent website 'upgrade'. It probably won't be incorporated into the site straight away due to the custom database programming (and cash!) that would be needed
I've just uploaded a few pics from one of my memory cards onto the NS gallery. If you're in the photos then give me a shout and I can have a look at what else I've got of you from the event (I've got a few thousand pics!). I know that there was a guy from Crested Butte who trains with Ski Club Vail in a few of the pics as we spoke briefly waiting for a bus and my sister and I both ski Vail too. Or if you know who he is (Adam or Aaron maybe?) then give him a shout, some of the pics could make a nice sequence shot.
PS I'm definitely not a photographer, I just happen to own a nice camera and was at the event so don't judge me to harshly! Hopefully the GB team will be able to get some proper photographers to some events!
