Line Blends and Similar Skis

I'm headed to Whistler next week so I'll need new skis. I'm only spending a week there though, so I want a pair of all-mountain skis that will rip everywhere, and will handle alright in powder. I already have a pair of Atomic Punx, so I won't be using these in the park all that much - maybe the occasional jumps. From my research it looks like Line Blends would be good, but I'm open to suggestions. I'm 5'8, 125lbs, level 3 skier, and these will be used like 80% groomers, and 20% elsewhere.
Also, if I were to get Blends, how long should I get them and where should I mount them? Can't decide between 178 and 182, and I've heard -2 from centre is good, but I don't know if that's a little too far forward if I'm not going to use them for park very often.
Thanks!

I have the line blends and really like them I have 173s and I am 5'11 and 155lbs. I think you should get the 179s, there grate in pow and groomers I also use them in the park and there really good. They are amazingly stable at high speeds. There stiffer for pow and jumps

Line Blends are probably one of the better skis Line has to offer. They are a really good ski but I think Line is really over-rated except for the Blends, SFBs and the Opus (which are super sick.) If your looking at All-Mountain skis the Blends are great options but you also might want to check out something like the Rossignol S3's (a bit more geared for powder), K2 Kung Fujas or Salomon Shoguns/ 2012s.

Blends. I would mount recommended, which I read somewhere (don't quote me) is -7 from true center. You'll get the most straight-forward performance out of the sidecut that way. If you're hardly touching the park there's not much reason to mount farther forward.

Final bump before I go off to buy them. Probably mounting recommended at this point since I won't be using them for park very much, and I'm assuming Line knows their shit and the line is where it will ski the best.

I love mine. mine are mounted at -5 from center. I used these to race on my schools race team. VERY stable at speed, considering how soft they are. really fun and playful in the park.
awesome ski

-5 sounds about right - it'll help a bit with riding switch and it shouldn't compromise carving ability much.

i found skiing switch was no problem at all. the reason i mounted them so far back from center was because these would be my all mountain pow day skis. I found myself taking them into the park a lot. They are so fun in the park, and ski really well in the park at -5. Hope you enjoy em.

So I went to the store yesterday, looked around, talked to some guys, and was told that Salomon Shoguns would be good for me, since I will mostly be skiing everything except park with it, and was told that they will carve and ski much nicer than Blends, which are designed more for jibbing. Hopefully he was right!

I'd recommend the Blends w/o reserve. Still beating the shit out of a pair of '09s and they've held up phenomenally. I'd say I ski 85% variable PNW back and sidecountry 15% hardpack on shit days.
All times are Eastern (-5)
