Armada vs. k2 park skis

i dont really know what to get, armada halo or the k2 domain? i don't wont it to be too heavy but i wont it to durable. Help me out

1st of all. use gear talk.
2nd prob the domain. great ski. the halo is also good but i would just say domain is prob a lil better

i cant speak on behalf of the halo.

however..
i have this years domains, today was day 59 for me... and i ride fairly hard... and all i have to show for it is 3 hairline edge cracks. skis are bombproof. however... they are really really really a jib specific ski... if you love jibbing that rocker jib flex pattern is what willis was talking about.

I have ridden both this year at PC. I rode the domains till i snapped them on a close out, the bases got fucked up quick because of the seams in the pattern and i found them too soft. The halos on the other hand are AMAZING. Sickest ski out. if you need more info pm me

armadas will be light and will want to go fast.

domains will be softer and and will want to butter everything.


pick one based on how you like to ski.

K2s are an extremely durable park ski. They are pretty heavy but I beat the shit out of them for 4 seasons and they still rode great. They're also good carving skis and all around mountain skis. Especially if you like to go in glades or moguls.

Talking durability, i'd say LINE stepUp stands out of the crowed ! but between k2s and Armadas, I'd go for k2 !

hahahha wow. Lines will delam on you, the bases on the domains are horrible because of the seams ( lost a quarter sized hole after 1 month all that has happened to my halos is top sheet chipping that soesnt hurt anything

halos are epic! light, poppy, strong, and so damn good for park. Domains are dope, but they're a little too soft and jip specific and feel a little dead to me. Halos you can roll everywhere and the swing weight is feel super lively even after a season. i'm sure there's a demo shop in PC with both though..... maybe hit em up ?

I have the Halos and they´re nice and all, love how "soft" they are. But they do feel a little slow and sometimes I find it hard to get speed for some jumps.
And I´m gonna borrow this thread a little: Will I get more speed on more traditional parkskis like the T-Halls?

domains are pretty heavy... i love mine tho, using them for alot of jumps and jibs and theyre good for both. also theyre really durable. pretty soft forsure. but those saying theyre jib specific, i would have to disagree

I was on halos all last season, and I'm on domains this season. I like both skis a lot, and I think either one is a great choice. The halos are stiffer and a bit lighter, the domains are softer and maybe a touch heavier.

Personally the domains have been my favourite ski in a while. I love buttering, pressing, surface swaps etc. so they're perfect for all that stuff. Of course the halos are great for this too, it will come down to personal preference on this one.. How much time you spend in the park, and what you like to do in the park.

Is this even a question? Armada all the way on this. I've been skiing the halo since it was first called the Alpha 2. My buddy who used to ski the halo and now skis k2 says he likes the k2 but misses the quickness and how fun the halo is. His k2 is also falling apart... My halo's holding up like a champ

K2 has been around for 50 years. Armada and every other brand simply attempt to copy what K2 does. Enough said.

Got the domains and I love them. Go for them, they are durable, for the rails they're the best ski I've had so far. The feeling on them is so good, and I think they are cheaper than the halos.

i have like 70 days on my domains and the only thing is the edges on the tails is coming off. its not a big deal though, i loved them

I'm currently on my second pair of domains. I go through about a pair a year. I find that the base and edge chips away at the tip and tails but it doesn't affect performance in the park to much if you trim it properly. The edge underfoot holds up incredibly well and no other ski i've tried has matched up in durability there.

They get really soft after half a season which is great for jibbing but it tends to wash out easier on jumps. i would definitely recommend this ski.

I'm thinking about trying the halos next year but im not sure how I feel about positive camber and asymetrical skis. does it make much of a diferrence when doing surface swaps and 50-50s / shiftys on rails?

I dont have either ski, but I have experience with both brands. My AR7's are absolutely amazing for the riding I do. They are a lot stiff then most skis, yet I can stop pop really nice out of my tails. They hold up really well all over the mountain/park, and the only damage is one edge crack and some topsheet damages

false. armada uses and extremely good resin that makes their skis very light. i have seen delams from both k2s and armadas. it all depends on the rider and how they use the ski. but having owned a pair of alphas, i can say that ski is extremely durable.

I have halos and my roommate has domains.  we switch up at the mountain quite a bit because there very close in size and same binding settings.  Personally i like the halos better for jumps because they have a bit more pop and are a lot lighter.  The domains give you more stability on rails though because there so dam buttery and the way their made is more balanced.  After riding both i would say its basically preference their both great skis
