i ride the bigger version of that, also bamboo, it's cracked in like 8 different spots but it holds up and is a blast to ride !

i hang out with a pretty big group of longboarders at college, and everyone who's ridden my board loved it, the nice flex of the bamboo and the w concave make it a very fun plank imho

only downside is that it has no decent kicktail and you stand high off the ground which is hard on the legs if you're commuting but you can however roll off curbs easily, it has excellent ground clearance :)

we've actually done powerslides over a gopro with it, provided some cool footage !

do change the wheels if you want to learn how to slide, the stock wheels are mad grippy :)

what will you be using it for ? if it's for leisure, consider a carver, those aren't very expensive and are super fun ! i've been considering buying one lately cause they're so agile and fun ....

yeah, i like it. i just started longboarding a few months ago, so i didn't want to invest in something super expensive. i asked my friend who rides for a recommendation since i really don't know much about longboards and he said he knew a lot of girls that liked the board, so i just went ahead with it.

and thank you for the tip, i'll def change the wheels if i get that far haha. that probably won't be for awhile though :)

I really want a longboard, but they're kinda pricy. Are they worth it? And when i say they, i mean loaded dervish or tan tien. thats definitely the ones i'm getting if i'm getting one.

Help me out longboarders

i've had so much fun on mine :)
but i must also say that loaded, hands down is top quality, but price/value wise they're pretty horrible, there are so many good boards out there that are almost half the price of a loaded ....

for example, some of the boards i've tried from my friends that i liked the most were a sector 9 mini shaka, a pallisades blue crush and a madrid missionary bamboo ....
there are also alot of my friends that ride loaded and their boards are always top quality, very light, very springy, all you want, but once you're riding it, there are a ton of cheaper boards that perform just as well, or maybe even better! and will cost a fraction of the price ....


and if you do go for the loaded, pick the tan tien, it's a super cool allround board and the little tail/nose are cool to do tricks with !

Do you have any further, more spesific reccomendations? Like you did with the Tan tien. Perhaps any sick sector 9's?

haven't ridden that many s9 boards, but the sprocket looks cool, shapewise it's a bit like the tan tien and it's also a drop thru deck which are so much more comfortable to push around ...

on a top mounted deck your legs will burn after 15 minutes of pushing while drop thru decks are so much easier to push :)

^^and the deck you posted is the dervish, definitely a fun board, but me personally, knowing what i know now, i'd get something with a decent tail ....

like the tan tien or sprocket, so you have a tail sticking out behind the truck so you can manual or pop with the board ... know what i mean ?

the dervish for example has almost no tail at all making it pretty difficult to do certain tricks on it ...

I got a Drang Donk carbon fiber with Randall 180's and 77 Tunnel Funnel wheels. Drang is an awesome local Utah company with some sick riders. They go up to squaw peak and get goin 50+ mph in some spots. Anyways im planning on starting to slide as soon as i get my gloves made. If anyone from utah goes down provo canyon then hit me up, im there at least three times a week.

if go out and buy good trucks and put them on my no name board would be worth the money or should i just keep my money and get a new set up next year?

also i thinking of the bear grizzlys 852's are they good for crusing?

i've skateboarded for like 3 months when i was 13 and i'm 18 now haha
it's cumbersome when you're not moving since you can't kickturn too much but once you actually get moving it's a breeze
tons of my friends ride so this summer is gonna be fucking awesome

i can chose between:


Paris 180s Black/raw

Paris Adam Colton 180s (8 bucks xtra)

Drone 170mm navigator black

And tracker fastracks.. (here;)

I've got a deck that my brother made in a shop class a couple years ago but I need suggestions on trucks, bushings, bearings, and wheels. I'll mainly be just cruising (but I might get into hills). The board I have is a pintail, probably about 41". I'm open to buying used stuff if anyone in here is selling. I can skate pretty proficiently on a normal sized board (shuvits and small stair sets) if that is at all important.
