actually no. If you slam on the brakes for no reason then it could very well be your fault. Obviously you can get away with multiple reasons why you slammed on the brakes, but it is a risk I definitely wouldn't take. Also, why would you purposely get in an accident with someone? You don't know how bad the situation could get and is much more dangerous than the person tailing you in the first place.

No, it's not his fault because the person behind him has to keep enough space between cars so if he slammed the brakes he wouldn't hit him.

you dont' understand how some people work. There are plenty of reasons why people would slam on their breaks and force the car behind to slam into them. new car? Claim you got hurt in the car accident (even though you were already injured and didn't have health insurance). It's fucking sad, but it def. happens alot
