Ever get nervous?

since McConkey's death 3 years ago, and CR's death 2 years ago, plus Sarah's death a month ago, I get kind of nervous before I visit Newschoolers.com or Freeskier.com or even Facebook. I'm scared that I'll see some new headlines of a pro skier's death.

Does this cross your mind at all before you visit log on?

no. you shouldnt be scared to go on the internet to find out someones dead. it dosent happen often and thats just stupid.

not to trivialize the deaths of many skiers whom we all respect but their deaths should be the last thing on the internet that scares you shitless. go look at whats going on in syria

Sounds like you're a wee bit too paranoid. Death isn't all bad, death brings inspiration, death brings new life. We have lost some amazing people in the ski industry and all it has done for me is push me harder to do what I love.

It makes sense. I don't think the majority of NS would feel as inspired of ex. CR Johnson if he was still alive. It gives him a more dedicated and passioned image as person, because he died doing what he loved. I think that is what amazes a lot of skiers, and inspires them to go skiing.

Have you ever had anyone close to you die? My guess is no. I had a very good friend of mine from high school pass away a litte over a year ago, it was one of the worst things that has happened in my life. But, with his death he lives on with me and my close friends and that kid inspires me every day now.

Feel ya there. Lost my best friend too a few years ago. Whenever I'm lookin at somethin on the hill that would be easy to back out of I think of him. He had a "never half ass, always go big" attitude. Ended up being the death of him but no one ever calls him a coward. So yeah I feel ya. He inspires me to push myself. Not just in skiing but every aspect of life.
