Do aramada skis with EST ski similarly?

I skied JJ's out in colorado and really liked them as far as carving and the like goes. problem is i live in NJ and I would never buy JJ's for here. Obviously then the Alphas and halos interest me. Does anyone know how similar the Alphas and Halos are to JJ's? in terms of stiffness, and does anyone know if the rocker on the JJ is the same as on the park skis, or are the park skis less rockered or what? I'm digging the short turn radius. Also anybody know effective edge measurements?

I'd probably get the 176 size, maybe 170 if they're a lot less rockered than JJ's. I skied both 175 and 185 JJ's and thought they were fine, i'm 5'5" or so, 120lbs, i'll be 20 soon.

tl;dr: basically i'm wondering if the alphas or halos feel like smaller JJ's.

I know the halo's/ alphas have less early rise than the jj's. Never ridden j's though so it'd be tough to give ya a comparisson

I have had both Halos and JJs this season. I kind of fucked up with the JJs by mounting too far forward but having skied a back mounted pair there is certainly a similar feel between the two skis. Short-ish running surface, very tight radius etc. The Halos are obviously way more responsive due to the narrow waist but in the turn there is a similar feel.
The sidecut is more set back on the JJs though, my JJs were at -1.5 and skied terribly on hardpack. My Halos are at true centre and ski just fine there.

so you think that given the same lengths, the JJ's would have less ski on the ground? the stats on the armada site suggest that since att he same lengths, the JJ has 2m less turning radius.

that aids in size comparison, how about stiffness? no chance you've tried alphas have you?

I have alphs 2's and JJs and the alpha's are noticibly stiffer. similar flex underfoot, but the tips and tails of the alphas are much stiffer than the JJ's

I rode the 185 JJ and the 176 Halo. Both of which have a 14m radius. If you rode the 175 JJ the 170 Alpha/Halo will feel more similar.

The Halo feels stiffer than the JJ (marginally) but that is largely due to the JJ having more rocker. I don't have my skis on me but I would guess that tip to contact on the JJs is about 35-40cm and on the Halos it is 25-30 in the tip and 20-25 in the tail.

I've only ridden broken in Alphas 40+ days old and honestly couldn't feel the difference between them and my newer Halos. They are a bit stiffer but its marginal.

hmm. so maybe i'll just get alphas for the faster base. plus next years space graphic is cool haha. thatnks for the info.

yes i would go with the Alpha. i have next years and are by far my favorite ski. the rocker is a lot less then the JJs bc its more of a park ski than a powder ski. the halo is a little softer than the Alpha. but the Alphas have a very fast base so on the days that everyone can't clear the jumps you will be able too. that is what i love about them. so deffinatley go with the alphas.

for sizes I'm 5,7 and i ride the 176 but they are not too long for me at all. you could probaley ride the 176s and be perfectly fine.

oh one more thing, anybody have any input as to how the decreased effective edge is going to hold on ice? And when I say ice, i do mean pretty much solid ice, or fake snow thats pretty much little balls of ice. I can hold an edge just fine with the occasional slip out because i'm on disorderlys with edges that have never been sharpened since i got them. and that's only if i try and turn sharp. nice long arcs still have grip.
