NS help, i fucked up big time...

so last weekend I was doing yard work for my moms boyfriend all day, they left around noon or so because they were going away somewhere for the day and night, while I was doing yard shit for him I was going through his garage for yard equipment and boom, in a plastic trashcan were 5 handles of glorious, beautiful alcohol

long story short, there was a brand new bottle of jack Daniel's that I just couldn't leave so I took it, got a call from my mom asking if I took one because now theres only 4 left... and of course i denied it

so
confess and apologize?
or just keep denying it?

so you stole booze and got caught? I wouldn't say this is a fucking up "big time" just a part of being a teenager. my advice is to tell them that you stole it and it's already gone.

for future reference, it's way easier to steal up to a third of an open 26 and then water it back. just make sure it is a kind of booze your parents usually mix instead of drinking straight.

they already knew you took it when they asked, its not that hard to tell when someone is lying so now they know that too. anyway denial of wrongdoing is a pretty natural initial reaction so as long as you admit it sometime soon I think you should be ok. itsnearly impossible to respect someone who you know is a liar if their respect means anything to you or not is your call

OP you stole it wrong in the first place

You should have taken a bottle of Jack, broken the top off (leave the seal intact), poured the contents into an empty bottle, smashed the (now empty) bottle of Jack where you found it, soaked the floor in water and then 'fragrance it' with a splatter of Jack.

Then leave a note apologising for breaking it.

They aren't going to charge you for it after doing a day of labour then are they. And if they do, well you bought a bottle of Jack, big deal.

Op how old are you because age is definitely a factor in this type of thing, also parents of leniency for consumption. If this is a "only slightly fucked" sort of thing, tell the ttruth, apologize for lying, and pay for the handle.

If its gunna be a year ruiner, how suggest getting a new handle and hiding it in a similar spot and trying the misplaced card.

exactly but if it's cheap booze for mixing they probably will not notice. you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 1oz and 2/3oz of whiskey in a whiskey coke. especially because you never really measure it when you make it at home. It's not like I was watering down 10year old scotch.

trust me I got away with this shit for years until I was like 16-17 and started getting friends who could just buy me beer. Same goes for stealing a random beer here and there and hiding it under your bed. Within a month you have a six pack which at that age was all you needed for a long night out. The hardest part was getting the beer cold again.

man I can't believe this was all 7 years ago!

could just say that you broke it on accident and didn't want them to find out so you took the evidence. if you really want to be guilt free, smash the bottle with the jack still in it and show them the pieces. if not, show them the pieces after pouring it into a seperate container, and don't break the seal.
