I haven't made the trek over to east vail yet this year, hows snowpack and conditions looking for anyone who has been? thanks

yeah be super careful especially with the wind and new snow weve gotten. have only been to mushroom this season because of the avy danger. dig a pit and assess the conditions before making any turns up there

but not only a pit, assess the snow from what you can see, what you already know, and what the weather has been like.

from what i have heard east vail is one of the worst spots, although all of CO is pretty bad right now.

if you do venture out, be safe.

I live in EV and have been skiing it for 5 years now, it's my main shred area you could say.  This year is the worst I've seen, most zones are not to be trusted.  Tons of activity back there.  Most lines I used to always ski are definitely quite sketchy these days.  I've set off quite a few breaks this year myself and countless fractures.  Last time I skied King Arthurs I heard the loudest "whooomph" of my life halfway down at the 2nd cliff band and was ready for a big ride into a terrain-trap ending, got lucky though and no movement.  Be careful back there guys.  Know your stuff, dig pits, assess the terrain and wind-loading.  Be ready to dig your buddy out or be buried yourself...

yep, to the ground... avoid china wall and the kitchen at all costs... not worth it
