He does whatever he wants, if he feels at home when he is in jamaica then good on him! I know he goes to jamaica, and donates money to charities and spends time with kids down there.

Yeah I got appointed to council in October and I ran last April election and was beat out by the babylon candidates by five votes 'cause they couldn't fathom the idea of having a rasta man at their fancy dinner parties.

I would hope Telluride to look cool and funky and to keep a little bit of sense of some of our um uniqueness here that we have 'cause we're a mining town that was founded by hardcore miners. We're not a posh place for people to come and buy fur coats and dilly dally in fancy restaurants. This is a skier's mountain and a skier's town you know and that's what we're all about. My vision of Telluride in the future would be a funky unique place where dirtbags like myself can live in Inety with Jah Iration, seen?

I'm trying to prevent Telluride from becoming this world-class, snooty, ritzy place where only the rich and the affluent can live, you know? It's important for people like me to be here, 'cause this is what Telluride's all about. Funky culture, you know? And when I'n'I leave and all my brethren leave there'll be no funky culture left. You'll go to the Last Dollar Saloon and you'll see a buncha rich dweebs lookin' around at each other goin' "Where is everybody? I thought this place was cool and funky". 'Cause we're all gone and when we're all gone it's just gonna be another sellout ski area, i.e. Vail, Sun Valley, St. Mortiz and those other world-class things. That's what I'm trying to help Telluride to keep from becoming, is a world-class ritzy type scene, you know

Hahahahhahaha, one of the rules of rastafarianism?  First of it is just called Rasta.  There is no -ism.  A rasta man does not say that white people can not be rasta.  We have not lived through what blacks have lived through but we can still power together through the power of one love to keep rasta alive.  Rasta does not care about the color of your skin, only the love within your soul.

actually its not a 'rule' of rastafari, and rastas dont support any "isms" for that matter and take offense to the term 'rastafarianism'.  rastas are anti babylon (western society and culture), not necessarily the white man, just downpressers in general.  you can be white and rasta as long as youre true to Zion and believe that Jah is the holy spirit and exhists in the soul of all rastas, not just smoke weed and listen to Bob (who is half white by the way).  i think tanner is aware that hes not an actual rasta, but rather a close follower and supporter of the movement

if its me you love, i too find it ironic how overprivileged white skiers are claiming rasta and blessing jah left and right without the slightest clue of what they are talking about, we have Thall to thank for that. Im lucky enough to have wonderfuly chill parents that tuned me into peter tosh, bob marley and jimmy cliff before i could even talk, and taught me to think for myself and discover my own beliefs. i choose not to follow any particular faith because i think theres something(values, morals, etc.) to learn and gain from almost all religions. rastas believe africans are the direct descendants of king solomon and who are you to tell them they are wrong.
rastatafari is no dumber than catholicism, islam or any other ancient story told from different points of view
