anyone heading out to Saas Fee this summer and if they're renting accomodation or going to the ski camp whatever, or just generally shredding the park, just want to know whats going on and the cheapest thing to do, peace out
Yeah. I was just going to go for the one week as it will be my third trip to the continent for skiing which racks up the money oretty quick when your paying it all out of student loans and overdrafts.
are you 18 or over? basically me and a few mates are under 18 and we went on the british freeski camps last year which is great, but expensive. we found we could get an apartment for like 100 pounds a week and we were thinking about going for 3 or 4 weeks and just skiing by ourselves this summer. would be up for skiing.
100 pound each that is possibly less with a large apartment with lots of people. and its real sick jumps were real nice last year and they had a decent pipe that got groomed every day like 18 ft. and a bunch of rails. only problem is that the mountain gets closed on some days so you can miss days but if we rented say an apartment for 3 weeks with a 14 day lift pass should be good depending on weather probably get a few more days but its the mountains so you never know.
I would love that man, i would like to go to the camps but if im skiing with a group of others so im not too bothered, also if i can ski for 2 weeks and that sounds much cheaper than the camp offer, what standard are you, because im pretty average, can do switch 360s and quite good on rails, so thats cool id love to join you
i mean i'm going to be there 2 months this summer assuming my injuries don't prevent it. I've been there 5 seasons or so and on trips for about 18 years too so i know the place, i was offering information should you need it.
Great to see a thread about something like this. I'm quite keen to get some skiing done over summer, especially where there's a decent park, if I have enough money cause I've had a disappointing amount of skiing this season. The idea of a big apartment is awesome!
might be camping there somewhere in middle of july, i have no more money for rooms, so i think i'll just set up my bivy on the mountain or crash in one of the abandoned huts :)
^^true and if i recall correctly, theres a really nice klettersteig/via ferrata up there, definitly worth checking out on one of the days when the glacier is closed !
i think it was the 'jagihorn' or something .... :)
can't tell yet, if i do, it'd probably be after the first week since i'm gonna try to cross the haute route, chamonix-zermatt and i was thinking of going further towards saas fee, check the allalinhorn, camp there and ski a bit :)
With a friend of mine we are planning to go all summer at Saas-Fee, that is if we have enough cash to do so !!
Maybe planning to rent an apartment for a few months and get the summer season pass, that is what we would want to do but for the present I have no idea if it will be possible!
I'm going to be there for a couple weeks mid july to early august. If anyone has a apartment wants someone to help with rent I would be glad to help. Shoot me a pm.
