Park skis, longer the better?

After reading a lot of gear talk it seams that people are into longer park skis. I am a fan of the long park ski but I want to see what makes others choose a longer park ski?

skis should be somewhere between your chin and top of your head. more experience/confidence should have the tips closer to the forehead than the chin and vice versa. more experience and confidence implies you'll be going faster over more variable terrain, hitting bigger jumps/features, and all-around skiing harder necessitating a bigger ski that holds up better under more pressure.
with pow/all mountain skis you wanna go bigger. at least from the nose on up, mostly because if you truly need the ski for such conditions you're skilled enough to handle more ski. there's also the obvious point that the ski is meant for really variable conditions and will be able to pull you through instead of being worked by chunky ish.
im 5'6 and ride 171 park, 178 all mtn, 184 pow.
don't think that having a bigger ski will make you a better skier! work your way up to it and get it if you really need a bigger ski, otherwise you'll just be miserable with a ski that's too long and unnecessarily difficult to ski.

I'm 6'4 and ride 181s (wish they were longer) but took my buddy's chronics (170-something) on a few laps n thought I was going to wash out every landing
All times are Eastern (-5)
