Working the system...cell phones

so i killed my phone in water after only about a month of having it. I switched out the water sensor things on the battery and phone with new ones and put the phone in rice for a couple days to get out any water. still doesnt work....

any suggestions about working the system to get this replaced?

of course i didnt buy insurance.

was it turned on when it fell in water? Did you turn it on after it fell in the water?

i tried to avoid water but got dehydrated....

and yea i tried to plug it in and turn it on..... nothing :(

Put it in a bad of rice to soak up any leftover moisture and hope for the best. I believe you aren't supposed to try and turn it on when it gets water damaged.

Correct. By doing that, you pretty much fry your chances of being able to salvage it.

yeeeeup tried the rice wit no success... thought if i replaced the water sensor strips and send it into LG with no trace of water damage they might replace? haha

ive read about iphones falling in water, because my ipod touch went though the wash. in the iphone there is a sensor in the headphone jack. people bleach the sensor, which turns red in water, making it look like it just broke.

If you replaced the water sensor things you should be able to warranty it. Just say it stopped working for no reason, even if you don't have insurance you should be able to get a new one, no?

a year and a half ago, i got the iphone 4 the first week it came out cuz it was my birthday. got to college, and went swimming with friends. needless to say, 10 min later i found my phone in my pocket. i put it in a bowl of cheerios in front of my fan for 3 weeks. i found that only one of the water sensors was tripped. i then had a 90 min phone conversation with apple. i finally sent it to them. 3 days later, i got an email saying my new phone was on its way. parents never found out... :)
