hola newschoolers, my tip delamed (the edge is ripping away from the wood/fiberglass/ptex and its bad..) and i need some new skis. i have been skiing on line afterbangs and besides the durability and the slowness of the ski, i really like it. i like its flex (i like a softer ski) and its poppy-ness and overall shape (symmetrical twin, 88mm waist, etc).I'm 5'11 and i have been skiing on a 166 original afterbang. i now am in the market for some new skis and i was thinking of the k2 domain since it is similar in flex and seems very durable. i also really like the armada halo design but im not sure if i would like how it skis. i demoed some chronics this past year and i really liked them but i am just not sure about lines anymore and with k2's solid looking construction, it seems like the cheapest and fits all my criteria. so my questions to you ns are:
what size ski and what would you suggest? again, im 5'11 and 140 pounds and ski minnesota conditions so lots of hard, icy snow. i am an instructor so they need to be durable and i ski 70% park 30% all mountain, but i really liked the playfulness of the afterbang everywhere on the mountain. Let me know what you think!
