if you mean like someone who works with an airline company, im pretty sure only a family member could help you.

Unfortunately not even a family member could. Usually discounts and passes are only for family members and no one else. Done airlines give pilot buddy passes as well, but I know for some airlines you have to be with the pilot to get the pass

mapquest says its a 7 hour drive, very doable
If you don't have a car, hitchhike

i mean a direct family member, my moms a flight attendant for delta and she told me all this, for delta you can get buddy passes, but the odds of you actually getting through are like winning the lottery...

There's really no way anyone can help you connections or not, unless they steal a plane and fly you.

yeah my roomate works for delta airlines and he can't get even family members deals unless he is living with them, he has a one companion flier and who ever he picks pays only 10% of the cost of the ticket to fly and that person remains his companion flier for one year then he can decide to change that person if he wants.

yea its hard. the only airline i'm connected to just puts you on standby and you only pay the tax on your seats. And that's only international, domestic is completely free.
I've got a limited time with any benefits so i'm trying to take advantage of them as much as i can. But unfortunately it isn't that easy to just pick up and go some place.

Yeah my dad's a captain and i only have to pay the tax. Waiting for a standby spot is lame cause you're last priority, and only a couple seats are possible for me to sit in anyways. Annnd I have to wear a suit, flying for like 50 bucks is just so stressful.

isn't ECB training to be a pilot or something?
I don't think a commercial one though.

Cheaptickets.com. Takes the leftovers from kayak, expedia, travelocity, etc, and then sells them.

It has the few drawbacks; waiting and uncertainty is a pain, as is getting to the right airport if you don't live near a hub. But getting transatlantic first class for under $200 is awesome.

Have you looked at trying to get a bereavement flight? Not sure if they're even cheaper, but it might be something to look into?
Looks light it would be Delta http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations/special_travel_needs/bereavement/index.jsp
Sorry for your loss

not possible to go from one of the other airports? laguardia, newark? might be a bit more expensive to get to the airport, but definitely opens up more possibilities.

Being a first year associate I don't ake that much, especially in manhattan where two thirds of my pay goes to rent. And yea I can't affor to spend 450 on a ticket for a day. Thanks for making me feel better about not getting home dick.

yea i tried that too. because buffalo is a "small market" airport, flights from LGA and newark are just as if not more expensive.
