off a jump
This trick is definitely easiest to do on a hip, or just a simple knuckle of a jump. Approach the feature sitting way back on your tails and take a little more speed in than you think you'll need (this trick kills speed and doesn't look nearly as cool if it's done really close to the ground). Just as you're getting to the lip, put you're left hand (assuming you spin left) on the snow behind you and look back at it. As you leave the lip, you should be completely turned around, fully watching your hand scrape against the snow. At this point, I usually throw my right hand out and try to grab the lip with that as well. From there, the trick is simple. You can take it to 5 pretty easily as well.
A few tips: From this thread, it seems like you may be overthinking the cork part of the spin. Coming off the jump backseat as I've described and catching the lip with your hands send you off axis without you having to do/think about anything else. Focus on those aspects of the trick instead and the rest will happen for you. You also seem to be a bit worried about injury. This shouldn't be a huge concern as typically the trick is done on smaller features. Thus, there's much less of a chance of you taking a hard slam. For me, the only real concern is hurting your knees as you are compressed while coming off the jump. Don't worry so much and have fun with it!
