Kotelet's words are in
bold
It seems that a really popular argument for voting for George W. Bush nowadays is 'He's protecting America', 'Kerry is weak', 'Bush is defending America against terrorists' etc. etc.
All you people who have posted sentences like that in arguments FOR Bush. What are your main views on this theory put up by Moore?:
That the Bush-administration willingly USED 9/11 attacks to start a scare about terrorism in the US. To make people afraid of the foreign threat. There were a MILLION terror-warnings after the 9/11 attacks. But how many attacks REALLY occurred? Was that REALLY because Bush was defending the country, or maybe there wasn't any threat at all? The government kept the 'Terror-meter' at a high level to keep people afraid and scared of the eastern world.
This is Moore's hypocrisy shining brightest. He continuosly states that Bush knew about 9/11, Bush knew about 9/11, he should have warned us, blah blah blah. Bush creates a warning system and now all of a sudden Bush is using scare tactics. More uses both of these talking points in F 9/11 at different times. We live in a nation today that is aware. We should always keep our eyes open to suspicious activity and never have any doubts. If another 9/11 can be stopped by a terror warning it is worth it. Just imagine if Bush stopped the terror warning system and then we got attacked again, this time even worse. What would Michael Moore and all of the Americans say then? Everyone would be saying 'Bush did not warn us, he did not warn us.' But now everyone cries foul every time he issues a warning. Hypocritical in my book.
Michael Moore continuosly states that there is no terror threat. Tell that to the victims at the WTC in 1993, WTC on 9/11, The Pentagon, Flight 93, Beslam School # 6, the USS Cole, Australian Embassy in Jakrata, the passengers of the train in Spain, US Embassy in Africa, and the foreign workers that lived in the apartment building that was blown to shreds in Saudi Arabia a couple of years ago. I dare Michael Moore to tell those victims families that there is no terror threat. The terror threat is world wide, and their actions have proven that.
This was the means to keep people supporting the 'war-president'. Bush was the man who was going to protect America. And when he decided to attack Iraq, a huge part of the US 'blindly' chose to follow his lead and go to war. This was a plan that had been there from the beginning of the post 9/11 period. The 9/11 attacks were the PERFECT base for a later attack on Iraq.
Michael Moore fails tell both sides of the story. Iraq had been in violation of UN Sanctions for years. They consistently fired on patrol planes, violated human rights, among numerous other acts, many of which were vile and disgusting. Clinton took action on Iraq in 1996 but his actions were meager. Launching precision guided missles into Iraq over a course of 4 days in going to do nothing of any significane. Did Bush want Iraq before 9/11? Possibly. But does that make it unjust? While thats highly debatable as it can be seen in many other posts on this forum. However Michael Moore fails to acknowledge in his film that 35 other nations saw Iraq as a threat and decided to send over forces as well. Did they send as many troops? No. But their troops are fighting the same war we are, a war meant to bring down a vile and torturous regime. If anyone caught Michael Moore on Bill O'Reilly, I am sure you noticed how ignorant and arrogant Moore really is.
