Haha. Okay, lets put an example here (forenote: I have not wiki'd how TV was invented or what problems arose from the invention - I'm only providing potentials)
Say someone has an idea about a thing that takes footage from a film camera, and displays it in anyones home... a 'telleh viz shun". They feel VERY strongly about their idea and that it can work. They ask for financial assistance from investors in order to research, but everyone laughs in their face and points to the door. So they take out some INSANE personal loan to research that idea. This could put them and their family in crazy financial debt for years to come - aka: going out of bounds, because they feel strongly about an idea. They work their ass off based on their passion, and succeed... now there's a TV in 80% of the world's homes...
...That's my line of thinking. Call it positive as fuck, but it's the case lol.
