Tamron Model Number Question. +K for answers.

Hey guys, so I started searching around on ebay for a new tamron 17-50 lens for my Canon T3i. One guy is selling a brand new one for $380 (original price is $500). He has a 100% positive feedback and is a trusted seller, so I'm not to conceded. The one thing I do wonder is why he's selling a brand new one for so cheap and why the model number is A16E. Is this like a model that is worse because there is also a model number B005. ANY HELP = +K and respect. Thanks guys

It's probably the Non-VC version.

How ca n people sell them for zoo cheap though?
