Yo guys! So I decided to throw together what little footage I had to make this edit. It's not much, and we only really got two shots (trick wise). Check it out and please let me know your thoughts/what I can improve on!
but really, it was alright I guess, kind of boring(but im sure you already realize that). You should try and angle that flood light better to get more of the end of the rail lit up during the night shots. And get mix up the sides you are shooting the rail from, I didnt really notice any from near the building
Boring filming? Boring tricks? None of the skiers landed anything when I was filming on the other side. I was also a bit limited with focal length. But thanks Thomas! I will take that into consideration next time.
I really liked this edit, it was nice to see an urban video not put to ghetto rap (not hatin on rap music in edits just it's used too much an often doesn't allways fit too well). The fist few night shots were too dark but once you got the light in it was all good. Some haters might say the jump is too big (but hater gonna hate), personally I think it's fine, I suppose some might put it a little lower but it's not so high that it's a question of stepping onto the rail. All in all pretty sweet keep it up and look forward to seeing some more $$$ edits from you
I thought the filming and editing was pretty good. I liked the song and I liked the vibe. Your shots were smooth and varied in angle, speed, and length, which is critical for a cohesive and interesting visual piece.
I'd argue that I think you need to cut it down. Either that or you need better content. No offense to your friends, but IMO you only had two usable skiing shots in that edit (that weren't filler, etc) and they were both the same trick. I would recommend that a) you cut the edit way down and find a way to show all of that but only highlight the bangers (you'd probably have to only use night footage because the day stuff would be discontinuous) or b) wait till you get more footage to make an edit, which sucks, I know, but sometimes you have to. The lack of content is probably what Balto is referring to when he says "it's boring"
Other than that I liked it. Nice camera work; maybe get a little more shallow depth of field shots thrown in there for good measure? Overall well made, just keep in mind what you're trying to show when it comes to the overall, beginning to end, video.
I Liked it i really liked the night footage! what white balance and exposure were you using because i can never get those construction lights to turn out sooo perfect!
