Proof Wood sunglasses pretty dope Anybody else have 'em?

So I saw a post about these guys a while back and thought they were cool but didn't do much about it.
Now i went back and found the website. www.iwantproof.com and they've got some dope stuff.
Made all from wood cool designs. cool story.

Finally pulled the trigger on these.


After I did some more digging found their youtube page and they sponsor some dope riders like Brady Perron. Have some friends that know him and he's sponsored by Armada and rides with Tanner Hall. Kind dope to see a new sunglass company supporting skiing. Seems like all the new companies that come out are all about snowboarding.

Anyone else got a pair of these. Pretty stoked on getting 'em.
Trading in my frogskins for a pair of these so let me know if anybody wants some red frogskins in pretty good shape.

Still got my ontarios. They are perfect. Dropped them in the lake wakeboarding over the summer and thought I'd lost them. Looked again and they were bobbing in the water. They float. Got a psir for my girl and she l loves them. Also got a snapback from them. Still my go to shades. Getting ready for some summer sun.

So I make Wooden Sunglasses, all by hand, no Laser Cutters, 20plys of exotic wood veneers. I'm not selling them yet, I still have plenty to do before that, its a lot of work. However, I will say this, Proof Wood Sunglasses are poor quality, take a look at Anni Shades for example or Feb 31st these are quality wood glasses.

Another thing, I would agree with you that its better than buying Oakleys or plastic shades, however, read this.

I'll tell you what, its very simple to come up with the concept however handmaking them is a different story, its easy give a design to a wooden sunglass company in Asia and have them make you a product. Do a little more research you will see which companies actually make their own and which simply buy from Asia.

been a minute since i was on here.

answer from a while back.

I still have my original pair and bought a year or so ago.
I was in Boise to catch a football game this weekend and swung by the grand opening of the Proof store.

My buddy lives in Boise and is super stoked on the company and the crew that runs it. He has a friend that works there as well.
Anyways ended up winning some shades at a raffle for showing up and bought a new pair at the grand opening discounted.

They are doing more than wood now.

They are using skateboard decks and acetate made from plants on some models. Got a pair of the Donners. wood and acetate mix.

Still super stoked on this brand.

Talked to the owners and they said they had a collabo coming out soon with one of the Utah outerwear companies. Causwell? Saga? maybe.

Haha. Funny story, I went to a game at Boise State and was wearing a pair of wood sunglasses from http://www.MakaWear.com and tons of people commented on how cool they were and would all say the same thing "Are those Proof wood sunglasses?"

When I told them they weren't they would all get the same sad dejected look on their faces.

I think it is all about Boise pride with Proof up there. They are sweet sunglasses though.

I know of someone who works at a law firm in Boise where the Proof dudes were doing basic bullshit. I guess they were super entitled, just huge dicks when they would come in. Had a ton of daddys money and just wanted to make a company.

I would say more local Idaho pride, Proof is over hyped and expensive. Coming from someone who lives in Boise.

I've never met the owners so I cant say anything about them

I have personally bought a few frames made of Genuine Wood and have lasted me over a few years. They look great and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice pair of wood eyeglasses. There are a few different styles. Good Luck and enjoy.
