Cheap ski and durability question

I am already spending a ton on new bindings and boots so i want to keep the cost down. I want a ski that can last me 2-3 years and is affordable but can handle whatever i throw at it. I have been looking at chronics and afterbangs but I need all the sugestions. I also like tree skiing awsell as park if you need to know what i usually ride on.

Cheap skis and durability RARELY, if ever, go together in the same sentence. But what percentage of offpiste to park skiing will you be doing so I can give you some more specific advice.

i mean i can spend probably up to 400$ tops. so not that limited but still on the low side

With that info a good starting point would be to look at the Armada El Rey. It's regular camber and cap construction and so it will definitely be durable, and it is $400 bucks so it matches your price range. Comes in alot of sizes to so you won't have problems choosing a length. Alot of people on here also recommend K2 as a good balance between durability and price. So I would start looking there.

line afterbangs, but they will become very flexible after a while, skate deck construction, very cheap, at aspen ski and board in ohio, a package deal is like $360

Yea..no. My friend's afterbang base cracked at the tip and he's only had them for this season.

If you're looking for cheap  skis go direct to a small  company and ask the m if they have any of last year's skis  left over or any  skis with cosmetic  defects that usually  slashes the price right down (at least for me it  does). If you dont mind riding older skis, I would look for an older AR7 or a not too old AR6. Cheap skis will be less durable, so your best bet is to find a good ski which is a few years old. Somthing like the el ray is great, but if you hit allot of rails its unlickly you would get much more then a season out of them. There a cap ski, which is good in some respects, but for rails its not a great choice. A sidewall gives so much more impact protection underfoot. Its why some skis use Sidewall/Cap combos for the best of both.

This is also really good advice. Its just that taking this route is hard to find a ski that you really like and sometimes have to settle. But if you find a decent ski that is last year's model for sale and it meets your specs/price then post it here and we can give you input on it. And yes that is the El Rey, (guessing by the link name, for some reason it wouldn't display for me).

Don't plan on buying till the end anyways, best deals are in offseason.

revivals look good and I can get them for 250 from a online store I saw. Leaning towards them or chronics
