Hello, NS. 2 days ago, I was getting back into the groove of learning new tricks, so I started doing my "harder" tricks. Second run of the day, I went up to 2 onto a flat box, a trick I have landed consistently before. At just past 180, the tail of my left ski caught the front of the box, propelling me onto back on the box. My thumb was sandwiched in between my back and the box. My thumb broke pretty much 3/4 the way through, and the doctor said any minute impact (if I fall at all on it) then it will require surgery, so I am out until mid-March (since I live in Southeastern PA, that pretty much means that my winter is over). Skiing is the greatest thing in the entire world and I know that my hinderance may be less than microscopic compared to others (Sarah Burke, Steven's Pass Avalanche Victims, LJ and his knee) but I let this be an example of why you should never take skiing for granted.
