Replying to Help With a Jam Session at a Local Hill
So I've been put in charge of organizing a jam session at my local hill as a chance for all the local kids to come and show off their best tricks and as kind of a end of season event. The point is basically for all the kids to have a day where they can show off to friends and family, and we're putting an emphasis on having fun. Our current idea is to have a 1 hour sesh where kids can just throw down, and then afterwards just raffle out prizes to the "competitors". I can't participate due to an injury, so I was thinking maybe I could pick out one or two kids to award a prize for "best trick". Anybody have any other ideas on how this could be run to make it seem a little more "official", while still keeping it fun with competition not being a huge factor? Keep in mind most of these kids are between 10-14, so really it will be mostly straight airs, which is why we're trying not to make this a competition, but as a fun jam sesh.
Sparknotes: I'm organizing a jump/rail sesh, how can I make this seem more official, LIKE a competition, but with an emphasize on fun? And how can I distribute prizes if it's not really a competition, but rather a "show us what you got" event?
