I think round about 40ish, becuase in Scotland winds often get way higher than that, one of the reasons why the lifts are often closed, that and there no snow :(
We have two 6 pack detachables, one that usually goes across the wind direction. That one goes until gusts get above 45 mph. The other 6 pack we have usually goes straight into the wind, and they can run that one until about 60 mph. It's basically based on chair swing. Once swing gets to be like 2 or 3 feet then you start running into chairs hitting towers.
If the wind is coming from the southwest (like it usually does) at 75km+ they'll shut down our main lift at Red. Tomorrow's forecast is for winds of up to 100km... could be a wild one up in the mountains tomorrow.
