Drunk photography.

I know this may sound stupid, but I had a pretty rough day, and was out with the family at the restaurant and had my camera with me cause I was shooting my friends later that night. Anyway, I had a couple of drinks, and I shot some pictures with the boys later on. Couple of shot came out nice. And I had this question I wanted to ask you guys.

Have you ever shot while drunk out of your mind and came out with shot you would have never thought of.. because I know I did have some pretty wild idea but the boys couldn't figure out what I wanted to do. haha!

Never done this before or anything similar, but now I'm inspired to get smashed and go out shooting with something cheap like an old point and shoot 35mm

I do this pretty often, except Im usually blitzed out of my mind, not drunk. or ill just set up my camera and shoot a lapse just for the hell of it.

this surprises me.







i've filmed while super drunk before, but to be honest i feel that i definitely do my best work while completely sober (or high, since that doesn't affect my ability to film that much). but when i've been drunk while filming, i just feel like i don't do a great job. if you go to my vimeo and watch our summer 2011 edit, i filmed the entire golf segment drunk, but it's pretty meh in terms of filming i think. lots of shaky glidecam work and average angles

forgot to say that this is like my number one rule when filming weddings: two drinks at the most, even if the hosts are offering more. the photographer/filmer getting drunk at the wedding is extremely unprofessional imo

i thought i remembered you saying a long time ago that you don't like doing any substances that mess with the mind, even advil or something. maybe that wasn't you, but i definitely thought it was.

i don't like going near my gear when im drunk.....i've been known to stumble and fall over after a few to many

I don't like opiates and stimulants (except coffee). Good 'ol American depressants are fair game.

Try bringing your camera out and shooting on mushrooms, once you have done them a couple times of course. Don't take too many either, maybe start with an eighth. Once you remember how to operate your camera, it's magic.

Meh, to each his own. I can do it fine. it really makes one think outside the box as far as composition goes. But I would recommend doing them at least 5-10 times before hand and being very familiar with your camera.

I shoot photos of parties for the ubc ski and board club, and the only way to do it is completely hammered. Works every time, and there's always the joy of piecing together your entire night in the morning.
