Wrong on both accounts. ARVs are actually softer than any of Armadas park skis other than the THall. Have you flexed that nose? And as for being too heavy I guess thats preference.
To address the durability issue of both you and the OP, they are skis. They are full sidewall skis. To be honest most of your sidewall gashes and topsheet chips are from you crossing your skis together. This will happen in almost any ski, especially sidewall as it as a hard metal edge going into a soft material. Bases get gouged. If you see a park skier really shredding ask him to show you his bases and I guarantee they will be messed up really bad. You buy skis to use them, not polish them in your room.
