What sort of ware is normal on skis

I found that after everyday i come home there are more scapes and gashes in the sides of my Armada ARV.  Is this normal i fell like there are maybe 5-8 bad gashes on my skis and i want to know if that is normal or if i should be more careful with them.  I use them in the park but i feel like they are taking more abuse then they should be.

all other wares do not belong on skis, for example John Ware the cowboy who died in the the early 1900's. he's not normal on skis.

some typical wear on skis are little base scratch and scraps and small chipping on the top sheet. To clarify a top shit chip is "basically" anything that isnt down to the core of the ski!

Ive got the new ARV's as well and i've noticed the same thing. Must just be the way there made.

Yeah my salomon twenty twelves have some bad gashes on the sidewalls. It happens when you bash your skis together trying to spin or do whatever. Totally normal. If there's any real bad gashes I use 15 minute 2 part epoxy bought from a hobby shop and I fill the gash with epoxy then throw some waxed paper over it and clamp it, being careful that none seeps onto the base. Works good, prevents further damage/delamination (which isn't likely to happen anyway)

ARV's are notorious for chipping! I have the 2010 ARV's and they are obliterated. I use them as my back country ski's though, I find they are too heavy/too rigid for the park.

none. skis should stay in mint condition with fully waxed bases forever if i were i would return your skis to the shop they are clearly broken

Another example of a Ware that is not normal on skis would be Australian journalist for CNN Micheal Ware. It would just be strange. Or the male middle weight from the US Ike Ware. He definitely belongs in the ring, not the slopes.

As long as they aren't to the core, scratches don't really affect how the ski will ride. If you can see any wood exposed from deeper scratches you need to get them filled with ptex/epoxy, otherwise water will seep into the wood and could rot the core of the ski.

Frequent waxing will go a long way in keeping your bases nice, if you don't wax and let your bases dry out it they will scratch easier.

Wrong on both accounts. ARVs are actually softer than any of Armadas park skis other than the THall. Have you flexed that nose? And as for being too heavy I guess thats preference.

To address the durability issue of both you and the OP, they are skis. They are full sidewall skis. To be honest most of your sidewall gashes and topsheet chips are from you crossing your skis together. This will happen in almost any ski, especially sidewall as it as a hard metal edge going into a soft material. Bases get gouged. If you see a park skier really shredding ask him to show you his bases and I guarantee they will be messed up really bad. You buy skis to use them, not polish them in your room.
