I live in Phoenix AZ (ski in flagstaff 3 hours north) and i have a ski pro right by my house in south chandler (suburb of phoenix). Ski Pro, for those of you who dont know, is a chain of ski shops in the west. they have skis, snowboards, and water equipment such as wetsuits, waterskis, and wakeboards. they also have a skate shop in there as well. well the other day i went there to browse through their skis and was very disappointed.
being from the desert, i dont exactly have a lot of other options for ski shops, nor do i go to other shops unless its in colorado (i have a house there too) which i dont very often. so ski pro is all i got. i go in to ski pro and go to the back to look at the skis, and found everything BUT what i was there to look at.
they had plenty of race skis, and the skis uncle bill gets for him and his kids to go on the family trip to vail on christmas vacation. but nothing for freeskiers. the selection of twintip skis was VERY limited. two pairs of solomons: one mens and one women's. i dont remember what they were.
K2 was most of what twintips they did have. they have K2 Ext, plus some powder skis from k2 as well. other than that, there was nothing twin tip. there was no line, no armada, no atomic twintips, nothing! the only place where there were twintips were in the kids skis. like 100cm skis. they had plenty of twintips for the kiddos.
