it really depends on what year your getting, the width of the ski has fluctuated a lot in recent years, but i feel like for an all mountain ski you could get a ski that performs better in the park, Line Chronics, ON3P Jmos, lots of others!

I thought it was funny when I saw some guy on these in marquette MI, when it hadn't snowed much at all yet.

I'm the guy you saw in Marquette. I got 12' Bacons in a 184 off warranty at the end of last season, and I got some octolands off here over the summer with intentions of using the octolands for park, Bacons for everything else. I'm skied the octolands twice this year. Bacons probably forty plus. The bacons shred so hard every where, they are the best ski I have ever ridden anywhere. I can rail groomers and ski just as fast as my racer friends, hit all the same jumps and rails that people do on hardcore park skis. They are my favorite skis ever and I highly recommend them.

I believe "Twigski" rides Bacons in the park. Hit him up with a PM for more insight.

Ok thats cool. How do they hold on ice and pop out of the turn in a deep carve? If they really are that great I might look into getting some as a midwest one ski quiver next year.

As long as your edges aren't dull as fuck they old great, and even with shitty edges they are manageable, and they are the poppiest skis I've ridden. Highly recommended as a one ski quiver.

Dude, no hate intended and I'm guessing ya jus don't know but there's a certain type of park style that rocks fat skis homie. My bacons are pretty much park/groomer exclusive and I do laps through the park on my opus'. Funny cause a few weeks ago a buddy and myself blended into a random group of A-banger kids jibbin all mountain. I was on my opus' and prob 50% of them were kinda like, "that's rad your doin this stuff in those.". One dork in particular who just "didn't get it" I guess kept saying "OMG someone thinks its 10 feet of pow!". Moral of the story is if your havin fun in the park on fat freestyle pow skis, your havin fun. Don't judge. I ski for me and no one else and definitely not to impress some 12yr old who only knows one style of skiing. A few days ago I had this same conversation with a certain unnamed armada pro (claim/) and he said exactly what I've said on here many times before. Once ya go fat, ya never go back.

Now that I got that outta the way, this is for the OP. The bacons absolutely shred park. They are hands down the best ski I've ever ridden....ever. My favorite park ski was the cryptonites until I rode this years bacons. In fact, if you look at alot of next years park skis, everyone is scrambling to emulate the bacons with camber/rocker/wide waist. I know, I know. A few have already done this so inb4 it's not new. Anyway, they do rail groomers and are super fast. Real easy to throw around and you can barely notice the 108 waist. They fell like a 95 waist. Grinding on them is so easy it should be illegal and wait till you spin em on a box. You'll prob bust a nut in your ski pants. The bonus is that they also rip pow and tree runs like nobody's business. Even my wife just picked up 172s as an everything ripper. She said its the best ski she's ever been on as well and I've never seen her ski faster on any other ski. She was hittin lines out west and literally waiting for us boys at the bottom. No joke. They also butter/press like a friggin dream. Nose butter a box and you'll be amazed. So yeah dude. Bacons for park/groomers? Absofrigginlutely!!!!

They are sick. They even work on the groomed and chunked up shit.

not only that but they slay powder like no other 108, so you get a creamy smooth park ski and a pow destroying ripper.

Gaaahhh I wanted bacons as my park ski sooo bad this year! But they sold out before I could get my hands on a pair.. Reading all these testimonials about how awesome they are just makes it worse :(

Can anyone compare them to Rossignol S3 for park skiing?
I want to buy either the SFB 184 or the S3 186 and use them as my everyday ski.
The SFB will probably float quite a bit better because of the extra 10mm waist, so if their park performance isn't a lot worse, I'll most likely go with those.
I had the old K2 Made'n (108mm waist, same as SFB) for this purpose until they broke last year. They were fun for floaty 3s and stuff, but felt a little too "sluggish" for rails and faster spins (still manageable).
They were mounted like -4 or -5 from core center though.
Will the SFB be easier throw around than those? They do have the "reduced tip weight technology" so that should help a bit -
Thanks for any input.

I dunno. Some peeps love the s3. I wasn't at all impressed with em though. IMO you can't compare em to the bacs. Not in a bad way. Just different feels for obvious and not so obvious reasons. The not so obvious being the magical pixie dust that pollard and j-lev sprinkle I into each set of bacons.
