Anyone licensed with medical marijuana?

Well, recently i've been dong a little bit of research on the whole medical marijuana industry, concluding that with my health i think i may be entitled to get my medical card due to DDD AKA degenerative disk disease, along with C-3 C-4 Disk herniation (assuming with time & effort). I don't want to jump right into this big idea before doing a good amount of research and making sure i have a potentially good shot at achieving it, but i also would want to know from someone elses point of view who has been through the whole procedure. Therefore, If anyone has any helpful tips/ things i should know about before i start the process please leave a useful note, anything will help! disregard any negative comments PLEASE.

The question is do you need it? What you have sounds serious but will it improve your quality of life or are you just looking fora  way to get free weed?

I'm all for medical mary I just hope people don't abuse the system.

To answer your question, yes it would really improve my quality of life. For the main purpose that i scrounge for my weed money to make my neck/back feel better yes i find it very necessary to become a patient of medical marijuana. I've been a smoker for a long time now, yes in the beginning it was for recreational use (as it is for most common users at the start). Once i came about my disk herniation issues, i found that smoking weed was a very good stress reliever physically and mentally. Not to mention lately i've been getting horrible neurological migraines resulting in pressure behind my eyes and bulging of the veins on my head/face causing my head to throb. So as far as medical diagnosis goes, i wouldn't say i was "abusing the system".

where do you live? getting a card is 100% dependent on that. I had mine when I lived out in CO, literally anyone with enough money to pay the "doctor" will get one. same deal over in cali. most of the newer mmj states have specific criteria though. getting the card is easy, you see the doctor, they assess your situation, recommend cannabis as a treatment, prescribe, paperwork, fees, etc. you get the idea. some doctors are even affiliated with dispensaries in some way. when you get your card they ask to sign their dispensary over as your caregiver so they can have access to more plants. it's all one big affiliated circle of really good weed.

go check out norml.org and research the marijuana laws in your state. there should be a plethora of links that will point you in the right direction towards getting a mmj card.

Sounds like youre going about it smart but i'll say this anyway. Do loads of research. Marijuana has limited benefits in regards to dealing with pain and in some cases may exacerbate it.

What state are you in? In almost any of the states where there are dispensaries you should be able to get your green card pretty easily, especially considering how you actually have a condition. People can go from doctor to doctor listing symptoms that they don't even have and they are pretty much guaranteed a green card.

I live in wisconsin so I obviously am not licensed to have medical pot, but I think it costs 25 to 75 bucks to get qualified depending on your state, and it seems totally worth it to not have to worry about cops and not having to rely on dealers

not incorrect, 3 of my roommates had cards in CO and dispensaries were more. Unless you're talking about the low grade nug they sell to grandparents, and in that case it wasn't even worth buying. I guess it depends on where you live, but that was the case for my roomies

I've had mine in Montana for almost a year, it's really easy to get one. I got mine for "joint pain" from skiing. It was all paid for by my caregiver, who set up the appointment and everything. Most people definitely don't need one, but it's nice knowing you don't have to worry about the law hassling you if you are caught with a doob or something.
However, I recently discovered that some new laws were passed by the state that restricts anyone with their medical license from buying a firearm. Not that I need a gat, just think it's weird cause DUI offenders don't have that restriction. guess thats MT for ya

Its pretty darn easy in WA if you know the right people...

You can get one at Hempfest for 100 bucks with no medical background whatsoever, just proof that you're 18.

you can get them real easy depending where you live. in CA and CO all you have to do is say your back hurts and weed will make it better.

but you do have to be registered and shit, so any background check or anything like that your current or future employer runs on you, they will see that you have a green card.

yeah man I don't know where your roomies were getting their shit from. I lived in denver for 2 years, $150 zips were not uncommon. there are so many fucking dispensaries in the front range (there are more dispensaries than all the fast food places combined), they have to keep prices down and competitive or else they'll go out of business. not to mention all the local coupons and deals they run in newspapers. so unless you were buying trash bags full of weed from some bearded dude somewhere out in evergreen, dispensaries are just as much if not cheaper than street prices. not to mention you pay for exactly what you're getting, mold/fungus/insect free. plus you get a retarded selection of edibles, and you can pay with your fucking debit card. if you live in CO and DON'T get your medical card, you should be ashamed.

Because high strength pain killers are a better option? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have a fat dilly or done script for cp issues, but I can understand why people wouldn't want to get sucked in to the never ending grip of opiate addiction.

Either you have never bought a gun before or you have lied every time on your 4473 form. It clearly asks if you use drugs, then specifically asks if your a marijuana user.. If you do use and you lie your already a "prohibited person" and you committed fraud on your 4473. They made the pot card law so that people didn't get the wrong and think they were able to buy a gun even though you have never been able to if you answer the form honestly
