It pisses me off when people say that skiers aren't athletes!
what do you do outside of skiing/forecast watching/newschoolers
background for me:
I used to skate (skateboard, inline and snakeboard [first brit to hit a vert on a snakeboard]), swim at national level, I was the national champion (UK) triple jumper, cross country running, rugby union @1st 15, cricket @ 1st 11 etc etc. grew up as an athlete.
Now I ride a road bike, run, play squash, play hockey (UK style), trampoline (admittedly like a mug; but I like to practice being in control of any sort of flip in case it aids performance on the snow [in b4 haters hating], I work on core strength at the gym and slackline... basically I do anything that helps my fitness or anything which I think might improve my coordination in the air as a skier.
what do you do for extra curriular (skiing) activity? ESP what gets you through the off-season for fitness?
