I've been skiing for about 3 years now and ive picked it up extremely fast due to my uncle who's does like crazy heli skiing and stuff, but now I really wanna up my game, after being out in Colorado, and especially now as I'm starting to get into park/pipe more than the mountain. I was wondering what's a good off-season routine to keep in good shape and really boost my performance for next season. Thanks +K.
swimming, biking, climbing/hiking. keeps you in shape, and keeps you strong. they're for the most part low impact so the chance of injury isn't really there.
rollerblading and biking are good to stay in shape, tramp and water ramps, and a diving board are good to train specific skills. if you can get to a summer skiing camp, that's the best.
Anything that makes you stronger in your legs and you overall body so you resist shocks easier. Then for freesking, tramp seems IMO the best option (unless you've got a water jump nearby..).
Yoga, rowing, a jog. Jog length will depend on you as a person. I just do a quick 2 miles for about 20 minutes (not full speed). Then walk a few more miles. Find a routine that suits you.
Also you could get a workout routine at a local gym.
