T2i mount/tripod??

i am somewhat confused by your question. Are you simply asking what tripod we use? when you said "mount" and "custom" thats where i got confused. If you are asking what tripod, i use a manfrotto 501hdv with 190xdb legs. a new set of legs would be nice.

as far as buying, many people use a manfrotto 701/501 hdv head with bundled legs. These work well for most people and are relatively inexpensive.

if you want to buy something other than a tripod, you could use a glide cam, though these are not something you can just pick up and shoot with, they take time to learn.

shoulder rigs are popular, but more for events and situations where someone needs to be shooting for extended periods without a tripod

lastly, you can make a rig. I made one that is basically a "U" where the camera is at the center at the bottom, and the two vertical bars a handles, and then i attached a piece on back as a counterweight. it was only $20, and I still use it sometimes instead of my glide cam, especially when shooting with friends. PM and I can look up instructions.

Some people make homemade glide cams, and shoulder rigs, but I don't have much experience with that.

Lastly, many people make things like pvc sliders and cable cams, but that is something that will be more useful once you have a tripod

also, there are plenty of sites like cheesycam and just videos on youtube or links from google that can give you specific instructions for just about any one of these. Hope that helps

A tripod will do you more good than anything else. Libec ls22 is the best tripod under $500.

If you're looking to save a little money get the legs from this tripod and use the savings to get a nice ass head
