Hold your horse buddy boy, why the hate?

It's not a question of snow or no snow, it's not even my home mountain. Thought it was a pretty impressive park for European standards, just sharing it.

But I'm guessing YOU should take a walk outside, breath some fresh air. Might do you some good.

It is val thorens. Their park had a sick junp line last year and this year (this photo) is even sicker. The jumps are close but not so close that you dont have time to re-adjust its the angle of the photo

It's ValTho, and the fusrt jump is huge. they are close but it's a fine run. the rest of the park is sick too.

There's around 18 kickers in total, 2 spines at the bottom. And they're building this sweet bowl thing that you basically step down into and step up out of, I'll get a picture but it's not finished yet apparently. You can see the two spines as well.

For those hitting it, how many lifts are bound to it? What kinds (I see 1 or 2 I think?), what's the lap time?

The poma running next to it is just the lenght of the park, so laps are pretty quick. I think theres a way to access it by chair to but that'd take longer

I was there last year and it's two poma's side by side but i have no idea of the lap time. You could probably lap it in 5-8 minutes if you gunned it and didn't stop?

Thanks for the precisions.

btw, so you US people call it a "poma" ? What does that mean? never heard of this word before (im a swiss speaking french).

And to add to this subject, we always called those "assiette" wich means "plate" in french since it does look like it. A bit kiddish when I think about it haha.

You all act like you have never seen a tripple/Quad jump line before. I bet the parks at Vail/Keystone/Breckinridge/Park City have all that stuff, except it is not crammed right up next to eachother.

You just hit the nail on the head. I'm acting like I've never seen a triple/quad jump line before because I haven't, because I've never been to an American park. This is in Europe, hence why it's a big deal.

Also I'm from the UK and call it a Poma.

yeah was there 3 years ago for a season, such a sick park, plus you can go over to meribel and hit the pipe there. When i was there they had a sick step up to huge step down feature, they take real good care of it.

I've heard poma lifts being culled button lifts. It used to take me about 20 minutes to lap the park, 10 on the lift and then 10 through the park.

"POMA" is the corporation that makes the drag lifts like that and there is always a bunch of poma branding on it and so instead of calling a drag lift, button lift or whatever, people call it a poma despite the corporation making alot more than those detachable surface lifts. if you really want to read more heres the wiki for the corporation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poma
