I wouldn't recommend the Volkls as they tend to be stiffer, and harder to butter and screw around on. The blend is a pretty playful ski and a lot of fun to butter on, but you may want something symmetrical and a little narrower. The Traveling Circus ski sounds like something you may want to look into.
I have not had good experiences with marker bindings, and i see more broken griffon schizos then any other binding come through the shop i work at. The jester pro and higher din fks is way more binding than most people need. I would look into the look PX/Rossi axial series of bindings, as they are reliable, durable, and usually available at cost for example:

just make sure you get the right brake width for whatever ski you end up choosing.
