spot on.
a few additional things
-if it doesn't cost too much, get a laundry plan. nobody gives a shit if you can do your own laundry in private school because they all have maids to do theirs back home. it's way easier and convenient to be on the laundry plan.
-4 is a must. you HAVE to go to your teachers if you need help. don't feel stupid doing it, just go, and next thing you know you'll be the smartest kid in class. it really helps.
-make friends with upperclassmen. they aren't as intimidating as they seem but they tend to hang with upperclassmen and only upperclassmen. being that sophomore or freshman who's chill with the seniors is a great position to be in and also gets you closer to those senior/junior babes your friends could only with they had.
-prioritize your time right. you basically have two options for homework. work your ass off during normal free periods and then chill all night, or chill during frees and stay up late doing homework. the choice is yours but i'd recommend hitting the books during free periods. it leaves time open later in the day to spend time with people, play sports, hit the gym or just fuck around.
-make friends with everyone. i know kids who have been invited to seven or eight different international locations for a single break just because they know people.
-play a sport or two if you don't already. you don't have to be on varsity, or even JV. i fucked around all last year on thirds lacrosse with a ton of my friends and it was a blast. you will have fun.
-oh and last but most definitely not least, keep your room somewhat clean... girls hate gross rooms hahaha
