Hey guys, really have been struggling on rails lately. All last year and the beginning of this year I had no problems and could pretty much do any rail/box. A couple weeks ago i started 270ing (fs) out and i can but now i have a hard time getting completely side ways on the rail, instead i go tilted to the right to help with the 270 which is really screwing me up. Now it has gone to my head and I've lost almost all confidence on rails. Has anyone had similar problems, I need help, +k for not just saying sack up cause I'm still trying everything.
When I can't ski , I go to the gym with big trampoline and I make some flip ... I can make a lot of setup similar in ski. Seriously , it help me a lot to progress in ski.
Its sounds like its all a mental thing to you man just get some speed and think to yourself theirs no way you can get hurt and you have done it before and get speed and look at the end of the rail and relax and just invision yourself doing the rail in your head man that always works for me but join the trick tip forum on here its under cults in the forums section
Start over. Start hitting the rail just normal and landing switch out. This will help you with getting completely sideways on the rail. Once you have become comfortable with this again, you can go for the 270 out. Hope this helps.
sooooo helpful do this, i had the same problem as you, what most likly is happening is that your thinking about the 2 so much that your not worring about the basics. what you wanna do is be patient, it took me a while but just wait to set that edge to spin out.
It's in your head. To try and get around it take a skateboard outside and set it just to the side of your lead foot when you ride rails. Then jump onto the skateboard as if you were jumping onto a rail and focus on getting your feet completely parallel. You can do this all the time when you are not skiing so it helped me quite a lot when I was just sitting around bored at home.
alright i hope this helps because i had this problem for a little. but basically wat i did was I would get on normally like im sliding it then start to scissor and pop for the 270.
