Help Me Create a Custom Setup

If you had 1000$ to spend in total, what would you get in terms of skis, bindings, boots. I really want hot doggers but I'm open to suggestions.

To start,I would buy everything on sale on from an outlet.FD vertika outerwear 50% off.Then I would probably get marker griffon bindings and some line after bangs or masterminds from EVO outlet or another similar online outlet.Then I would buy some previous year boots from an online outlet or a store like liquidation world.Those are the main things I think you could fit into a grand.

No.

Don't ever buy boots online unless you are 110% positive they fit

That being said, go to your local shop and try boots on, make sure this fit you properly and everything. Full Tilts might not fit you.


Also, how much do you weigh? Height? Skier ability? Where do you ski?
What do you want your ski for? Park? All Mountain? Powder?


Go be a good guy and support your local shop

obvious answer, buy boots that fit properly with price being no object. Base everything else off of the remaining money.

so boots are really the most important? and i weigh 155-160. im 6'0 but that shudnt matter. i am a very good skier, but i want park skis ( intermediate ).

yes boots are the most important.I was joking about "just buy full tilts" I have had 4 pairs of boot all fitted except one pair,and the full tilts are the only ones which have really worked for me.You might be different though.I'd rather have the most comfortable,best fitting boots in the world than the prefect ski.

As for boots, go to a shop and buy some that fit you from that shop

The set up I gave you will give you plenty of money for boots that fit and will last a long time.

I couldn't get those intime, the skis only have 1 more in stock for 175 cm and the bindings are so nice for the money, thanks!

What skis? I tried putting the Step ups in my cart, and it works.

And the bindings should be great, I have their bigger brother (PX18 Racing) and I love them.

yes boots are the most important, and if it comes down to it you could easily save money by getting a good deal on bindings from here, and possibly skis.

I mean if you look at all of the pros, they all pretty much ride different skis and bindings so getting the "best" ski isn't the biggest concern as they all seem to make whatever they have work.

I also wouldn't get hot doggers, soft tongues and plastic buckles spell disaster for us bigger guys. If a full tilt boot fits, I recommend the Seth Pro. Metal buckles and a flex tongue of 8 (which I use in the park, and I'm 6'2",170lbd)

I'd go to a good bootfitter, say find me a boot that fits and then make it fit better. Then spend the rest on skis/bindings and such.

This. My feet are funky as hell, its all about good boots for good days. Skis and bindings come after in terms of importance.

I want to get rid of shinbang and have a great pair of boots at the same time, thats why i thought hot doggers would be cool, the cheaper the better tho.

You need to get the Hotdoggers idea out of your head.

At least get those fitted, if they don't fit properly, you'll have much worse pain than shinbang.

Also, like I said, don't get the Hotdoggers if they fit, get the Seth, better buckles, stiffer tongue (better for someone your size). No cheap plastic buckles and a soft ass tongue.

Go get fitted, and stop landing back seat.

dont the seths have a 10 flex also those are very expensive and i dont know if they're 100% necessary 6'0 150 isnt very big at all

This seasons have an 8 flex now, where as previous models had a 10. The First Chairs have the 10 flex (what I own).

A cheaper version of the Seth would be the Konflict. Metal buckles, and a flex rating of 8. Beauty of a boot.

10 is pretty handy when you are charging lines and you don't want a flimsy boot. I also use the 8 for park, I find it much softer and a bit more forgiving for those hard park landings.
