2. Doing a basic grab or grabs in said trick.

3. Technicality with no creativity

T wall IMO looks kinda bad now. he does the same run every comp, and i liked his style back in 2010 and 2009 much better. IMO booby is sick, watch his msp and pbp segment and you will see why i think hes sick. Goepper is pretty sick. not my fav but he is the only one who can beat wallisch the way dew is judged so i would like to see him do so. BTW i flipped when i saw his 2 on rodeo out!!!

hehe... booby. but I actually like toms style now better, a lot more smooth, while doing technical shit. his video parts are awesome, and while he may do the same run every time, he wants to win as much as everyone else does.

trick per trick... no not at all. if the same trick is landed twice to clean: we should chose the one that was maybee less perfect but displayed the most ease rather than perfect execution and shoulder/head placement.

Im not so much hating on the guy but more on the state of competition skiing and he represents this perfectly.

Of course when your not as comfortable as others throwing down naturaly, in competition you still have to throw it if you know it. I cant blame anyone for doing that. What is frustrating however is when the guys who cause you to step your game up get scored lower because style and ease, the founding principles of steeze, are completely disregarded!

Style is about making tricks look good. It doesnt matter if its a dub 12, a cork 1, or any other trick. Bobby, Henrik, Gus, Phil, Goepper, Laker, Andreas, or any one else. They all make tricks look good, and that is what style is.

a whole course with street features would be way better and it would refresh the comp side of things a lot. we should have a series of different types of comps that would test the overall creativeness and talent of park skiers in every aspect, not just see how many spins they can do.

D-40 is right. They're not trying to look good as determined by you kids, they're following the rules of the sport. And no I don't think changing the sport is the right move, But I do agree that a street type comp would be super fun to see, and I agree it would look very cool

i've said it 100 times before.

landing in a switch wedge is not style, its not clean, and its not controlled. a misty 450 or kfed landed in a switch wedge should not be scored as highly as a misty 450 or kfed landed in a switch carve. this isn't subjective.

skiing like a robot is what you've gotta do to stack that paper.  so more power to them for that. competition skiing is a different vibe of freeskiing, just as big mountain is from urban (pretty extreme example i know),  it is what it is, all we can do is hope the judges dont make bad calls.
while Geoppers first run was fuckin sick, it doenst seem like his second one was worth the points he was awarded.

bobby brown is a skier, throws down large, holds grabs, makes unnatural look natural, stomps bolts more often than not and makes loot.

Every single skier has style... some may be like B-Dog others like bobby some like t-wall some people might have totally original styles too. Thats is part of the reason the word 'free' is in freestyle skiing. People are allowed to ski however they want. Just be chill, shred, have fun and dont care what other people are doing or how they are skiing.

although not my favourite style, admittedly, a clean bobby brown run might be one of the most "perfect" (used loosely) runs in skiing. it's no secret that he's incredibly talented. however, I find it infinitely more interesting to watch when a skier who has a distinct flair to their style. For example, if you were to turn Bobby or Nick into a black silhouette and show me a run I couldn't tell you it was them. If you did the same with Henrik or Sammy C I could tell you right away. therefore you could argue that they are more "stylish" than Bobby.

I think if the AFP was to switch the way competition judging works, it might benefit and challenge all skiers as well. I don't know how it works now but I just had the idea of having four (4) judges - two for a Style/Creativity category and two for a Difficulty/Technical category. A score would come from each set of judges and then the overall score would be the average of the two categories. Thus pushing the "style" driven skiers to get more "technical" and pushing the "technically" driven skiers to be smoother and creative.
I don't know just a random idea off the top of my head.

I like this idea.The courses at the moment are mostly made up of huge jumps and that's probably where most the points are scored. Skiers like Henrik, b dog etc, would be noticed more by judges if there were more rails and creative features. Maybe even some smaller jumps as well as big ones so we can see some steezey smaller spins as well as doubles.

Haha it seems as if everyone forgets that Goepper could have skiied down to the bottom without hitting a jump and would have won. He usually gets clean landings and it was his victory run, he may have just thought hey I'll just try something new I have never tried to give the crowd a good show. That could have been his first switch 14 and he may have just made a little mistake. I think ns can hate on goepper if he was to put that switch 14 in an edit, but he didn't it was a heat of the moment bobble that everyone is drawing attention to. You dont put a picture of bdog up if he falls in a comp and he waves his arms and quote him on his stance on style because skiiers are in fact humans not robots. As for the score, yeah it was off, but he had secured the win anyways and might as well reward the kid for sacking up and not just pussing out and skiing down to the bottom accepting a score of 25. I mean that was probably his first try and trying a trick for the first time at a competition in overcast weather takes a lot of nuts so the judges probably just rewarded accordingly. The score was too high, but his first run technically won, and that run was more or less smooth

ha, I doubt op or anyone would refer to henrik or kai to having robot style. dub 12s have been around for 5-6 years now. if you're gonna compete at the biggest events each year you should at least put some creativity into tricks rather than muting them
